Colchuck Peak (8705ft)

Colchuck Glacier

Today Dan Smith and I made an attempt on the North Buttress Couloir route on Colchuck Peak, but when a small avalanche swept over us at the beginning of the route we decided to opt for the more stable Colchuck Glacier route.

Dragontail and Colchuck Peak made for a spectacular backdrop to the lake.

Trailhead (7:33am)to Colchuck Lake: 2:07 hrs

Lake to base of NBC (11:30am): 1:10 hrs

Summit (~2:00pm): 2:30 hrs

Descent from summit to lake (: 45 minutes

Lake to trailhead (6:07pm): ~2 hrs
