Crevasse Rescue Practice at Mt Rainier N.P. March 13, 2004

Today Kim and I joined our friends Jake and Greg for some crevasse rescue practice at Mt Rainier. We had originally planned to do this last summer but something always came up to make us postpone the trip. So we were glad to finally get together.

We had hoped to practice out on the Nisqually glacier in actual crevasses, but due to time contraints we ended up practicing on the steep moraine next to the glacier. We practiced arresting the fall, setting up anchors, and building and working the Z-Pulley system. Thanks all for a fun day in the mtns!
