A Morning Ski in Seattle

March 8, 2002

A spring snow storm dumped a few inches of snow on Seattle, so I had to take advantage of this rare chance to do some skiing in my Seattle neighborhood. While I was in Jackson Hole, WY, Jeff gave me a pair of old, wooden, Bonna cross country skis that he wasn't using. They were only 180's, so they were a little short for him, but they are perfect for Kim. Unfortunately we haven't picked up a pair of 3 pin boots yet for Kim, so I got to take the skis out for their maiden Seattle ski tour!

Since this was a Friday morning, and I still needed to go to work I decided to just ski the 100 yards or so of lawn that is near our apartment. One of the many city parks would have made for a much better tour, but time was of the essence as any snow that falls in Seattle is completely melted by the next afternoon. I was able to make eight or so laps on this short stretch of snow.

Kim watched this humorous event from our balcony and snapped these pictures for the annals of history.
