Today we put the greenhouse together. Yesterday was spent getting sand, gravel, bricks, pavers,
and other materials for the foundation.
The most time was spent getting the foundation in the correct location and level.
Since the east side of the greenhouse will be next to grass, we added a lawn barrier.
A few days earlier, Peter had dug out and tamped down a footprint for the foundation. To make sure
no weeds or grass grew up, we added a weed barrier cloth over the dirt, then covered it with sand
down the middle for the pavers, and pea gravel down the sides for drainage.
The instructions for putting the greenhouse together were very clear, and the panels fit
together like a glove. We still have to install the automatic vent openers, add the windblock
around the door, and anchor the whole thing into the ground with rebar.
As we put on the roof panels, we were really surprised at how sturdy a structure it is. Excellent
design!

Yesterday Peter built a bench for the greenhouse and today he built a second bench. Several
of the greenhouse catalogs were selling cedar benches anywhere from $100-$140. We built ours for $40.
Thanks to the friendly folks at Dunn Lumber!
